Local Member Grants

The 2025 Lancashire County Councillor election results for Padiham & Burnley West were as follows:

Each County Councillor has £2,000 per year to give out, either as a lump sum or to divide, for projects which benefit the community and meet the application criteria. I therefore welcome applications for the Local Members grants for the 2025/26 financial year.

Additionally, Lancashire County Councillor ‘Champions’ of different areas get £10,000 of funding which can be applied for, which cover. The champion areas cover ‘armed forces & veterans’, ‘disabled people’, ‘mental health’, ‘older people’, ‘rural affairs, ‘the agricultural community & parishes’ and ‘young people’.

Local Burnley Borough Councillors also get a ward grant of £5,000 per year each, in a scheme which works much like the members scheme. On top of this, there are many grants and funds available from charitable bodies for charity and community projects.
