Lancashire County Council Waste: Refugee Translation

Lancashire County Council Waste - Refugee Translation

What Is Happening?

On 7th April 2025, Lancashire County Council put out a notice regarding a £720,000 + VAT contract for ‘the provision of interpretation and translation for Lancashire refugee integration team and named providers’.

The Lancashire County Council projected budget deficit for 25/26 financial year is £7.814m, this tender value is nearly 10% of it!

What I Will Do

With Reform in power, not only will the influx of refugees from France and illegal immigrants be stopped, but money will be saved on nonsense like this. Reform County Councillors will leave no stone unturned in getting value for taxpayer money.

Until Reform win the next General Election, we’ll be limited to just what we can achieve at Lancashire County Council. I will look into how this tender will be used and explore replacing it with technology wherever possible, to reduce spending. Google Translate is free.

What You Can Do

Vote Reform. Now, more than ever, we need Reform County Councillors at County Hall, fighting against wastes of our money like this.

Over 70p for every £1 of Council Tax we pay goes to Lancashire County Council. Servicing the £7.814m expected new debt they’ll create in the next year will cost money in interest, so the true cost of this waste is amplified. Lancashire County Council needs Reform. Reform needs you to get out and vote for us!
