What Is Happening?

The current Conservative County Councillor for Padiham & Burnley West, Alan Hosker, leafleted everyone, claiming I’m a name on a piece of paper and that no one else will do half as much as he does.

Evidence shows he only attended 44% of County Council meetings he was expected at. He didn’t even apologise for not showing up for over a quarter of the absences.

What I did

I put out a post on Facebook about this, detailing his attendance, him taking thousands in his taxpayer allowance for not turning up half of the time and his track record of conduct investigations, to which he’s made excuses, claimed it’s not his fault and refused to apologise.

What Happened

Alan blocked me, put out a post blaming his poor health and covid restrictions and saying I should be ashamed of myself.

A small group of his vocal followers then commented to defend him and criticise me. This includes a woman who is alleged to be his partner, Wendy, who made a series of bizarre claims and factually inaccurate statements. Most of Wendy’s comments have now been deleted.

What I did

I’ve made a follow up post, with evidence to show that Alan was well enough to attend Burnley Council meetings in person throughout this period, as well as questioning whether

Conclusion

I hate seeing politicians slating each other as much as the next person, but I thought it’s in the public interest for voters to know the Tory candidate asking for their vote doesn’t even turn up half the time. This is the last I’ll say on this, the point has been made.
